Based
in Washington, DC, Annabel Hughes Communications, Inc.
(AHC) specializes in the design and implementation of
information and advocacy strategies for clients with
needs before governments, international institutions
and media outlets in the United States and Europe. With
special emphasis on leaders in Washington, D.C., London
and Brussels, AHC marshals its strong network of working
relationships to achieve its clients' goals.
Annabel Hughes
President
Prior
to founding AHC, Ms. Hughes was Executive Director
of the Zimbabwe Democracy Trust, an organization created
to engage international policymakers and media on Zimbabwe's
growing political crisis. This effort developed a first-of-its-kind
Trans-Atlantic advocacy campaign among London, Brussels
and Washington, DC, engaging such top-level government
officials as U.S. Secretary of State, the Hon. Colin Powell,
and Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Hon.
Dennis Hastert, as well as their European and British counterparts.
Additionally, Ms. Hughes founded the leading information website
on Zimbabwe (www.zwnews.com)
to counter state control over the media. Today zwnews connects
well over 100,000 subscribers and disseminates news on
Zimbabwe to leaders around the world.
For more than twelve years Ms. Hughes has
worked in international public relations and policy, advising
financial, political and sports organizations. A
former journalist, she has published in national newspapers and
magazines in Britain, the United States, Canada and southern
Africa. She has lived in Zimbabwe, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong
and the United States.
